The Next Generation

Theology in practice

For over four decades, Dr. Leon van Rooyen built a global education system that has reached more than 150,000 students across dozens of nations. His books, training manuals, and mentorship programs have been translated into many languages and deployed in churches worldwide.

World Mission Bible College exists to steward that inheritance and expand it. Under the direction of Dr. David John Philips, we are not replacing the founding vision — we are grounding it in a place. Our Louisiana campus will be the first location where students don’t just study theology — they live it alongside missionaries, pastors, and leaders in active ministry.

Primary Focus

Spiritual Leadership Training

Dr. Leon van Rooyen

SLT is the cornerstone mentorship track — a personalized leadership program that distills over 45 years of ministry experience from founder Dr. Leon van Rooyen into intensive, practical training.

The program is designed for pastors, church leaders, missionaries, and emerging ministers who want more than academic knowledge. SLT produces leaders who are anointed, balanced, and skilled — equipped to guide, teach, and inspire the Church in their generation.

What SLT covers

  • Personal mentorship rooted in decades of tested leadership principles
  • Intensive study of spiritual leadership, character formation, and ministry strategy
  • Practical tools for pastoring, preaching, team building, and church growth
  • Connection to a global network of trained leaders across nations
  • Pathway into deeper study through GTU degree programs

World Mission Bible College is the home for SLT’s next generation. Under Dr. David John Philips, we are bringing this program to the Louisiana campus — where leaders can learn theology and practice it side by side.

Core Values

The Four Pillars

Everything DLI teaches flows from four foundational pillars that shape every course, internship, and interaction.

Develop CharacterWe do a great disservice to people when we teach them what they are supposed to do before we teach them what kind of person they are supposed to be.Character precedes gifting. Before leadership techniques, DLI builds the inner life of a leader.
Discover CallingEach of us was designed on purpose for a purpose.DLI helps students discern their unique design and align their ministry with God’s specific calling on their life.
Increase CapacityExcellence is doing our very best every time.Leadership growth through practical skills, strategic thinking, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Serve the ChurchWe are not competitors with the local church; we are partners with the local church.DLI exists to strengthen local congregations, not draw students away from them.
